God’s Covenant with the Family

They want to destroy the family that was God’s plan and ordinance as it says in Genesis 2:18 — Then the Lord God declared: “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him someone to help him and correspond to him”.

Every human being comes from a family, with money or without money, big or small, it all starts with the union of man and woman. The basis of society is the family. We are born from it and depend on it for our development. The family is the solid foundation that leads human beings to have principles, values, fear of God and respect.

Many people have an emotional and financial view of the family only, leaving faith, love for God in the background, and the family can only be complete when we have God at the center of our lives. When there is a crisis, relationship strife, illness, conflict with children, and other factors that cause the family to wear out emotionally, its value is greatly shaken and compromised to total wear and tear, leading to the desire for divorce and loss of communion with God. . Granting only these sentimental values to the family can lead to ruin and destruction.

It is necessary to go further and understand that the alliance with the family was a project of God, and to add the value that God placed. And so we can deal with emotional value allowing it to be structured to what the Holy Scriptures teach. To better understand the concept of family values, it is necessary to know biblical principles and values.

The Lord calls everyone UNIQUE, but deals in everything with the FAMILY. Salvation is individual, faith and choice come from the will of man, as well as the consequences, he will answer on the day of judgment, and his word declares: “: “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Rom 14:12). Now when we talk about family, the Bible presents that God has a purpose for each individual.

God created the first family through Adam and Eve with whom he made the first covenant, but as a result of sin this covenant was broken as shown in (Genesis 1:28–30) he gave them the Earth and full dominion over the animals; he gave them plenty of food, blessed them, and told them that they should be fruitful and multiply. God had given a condition to man that he ate of everything except the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil he did not eat. The beginning of obedience was given where God made it clear that disobedience would have a consequence: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:16–17). They disobeyed, breaking the covenant, and experienced moral, spiritual, and then physical death. (Genesis 3:2–20). God sacrificed an animal and clothed them because they found they were naked and were ashamed. The Lord God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins. (Genesis 3:21).

By calling God to Abraham, he made a covenant with him, focused on the family, because until then Abraham had no children, and God promised Abram to make him the father of a multitude. Then the LORD led Abram out of the tent and told him, “Look up to the heavens and count the stars, if you can.” And he promised: “So shall your posterity be!” (Genesis 15:5). “Now the Lord said to Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, to the land which I will show thee. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you, and make your name great; and you, be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3). It may be noted that the Lord speaks of multiplying the family of Abraham for the purpose of blessing All the families of the earth. God makes the promise to bless families starting with Abraham to this day through his Son Jesus. To understand the value of the family, we just need to analyze the Scriptures and see how many individuals God made alliances with until he reached his Son Jesus Christ. COVENANT WITH NOAH (Genesis 9:9 — “I will establish my covenant with you and your future descendants, Gen 9:16 — Whenever the rainbow is in the clouds, I will look at it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living thing of every kind that lives on the earth.” COVENANT WITH ISAAC (Genesis 17:21 — My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will give birth to at this appointed time in the following year). COVENANT WITH JACOB (With that they made a covenant of peace (Gen 26:26–35) Leviticus 26:42 I also will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham I will remember, and I will remember.) COVENANT WITH MOSES (Exodus 24:8) God made a covenant with Moses and Israel at the foot of Mount Sinai, and after reading the Book of the Covenant “in the hearing of the people,” they all said, “All what the Lord has spoken, we will do and be obedient.” The Mosaic covenant gives the form of life with God. COVENANT WITH DAVID (1 Kings 8:16 Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen any city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house to establish my name there; but I chose David to rule over my people Israel.) The New Covenant with Jesus Christ: — This Covenant had been promised by God (Jer 31.31–34). These verses indicate that there would be a replacement of the old Covenant, that is, a break with the Law of Moses. It was instituted by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper (Mt 26:28; Mk 14:24; 1 Cor 11:25). In the New Covenant, God manifests himself to man as a Redeemer, where he sent his Son Jesus to redeem our sins and save everyone who believes in him. To teach us how we can be saved, where he shed his blood to pay for our sins. He gives us salvation freely through faith in the Lord Jesus. Jesus said in John 14:7 — At that time Jesus said to his disciples, 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. John 3:36. Jesus said to him: I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live. John 11:25. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If anyone abides in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit; John 15:5. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; stay in my love. John 15:9. With his new covenant God shows how much He loves families, and that through Jesus everyone who believes in Him has eternal life.
